Physicochemical characteristics like pH, turbidity, conductivity, total solid, total hardness as CaCO3, sulphate, nitrate, chloride, fluoride, magnesium, calcium, iron and arsenic of well-water of Supaul district, Bihar state have been studied for pre-and post-monsoon seasons and the data were analyzed and discussed with respect to different standards and health hazards. Most of the samples were found to be of slightly alkaline nature and a few samples were found to be of acidic nature and having well within the permissible/allowable limits prescribed by WHO/USPH except the value of iron which was slightly higher in some of the samples.
