Abstract

Article Summary

The efficacy of 7-hydroxycoumarin-3-carboxylic acid on fermentative production of lactic acid by Lactobacillus delbrueckii NCIM - 2025 has been assessed. It has been found that 7-hydroxycoumarin-3-carboxylic acid at concentrations 7.0×10–5M enchances the production of lactic acid to an extent of 10.720 g/100ml which 13.367% higher in comparison to control, i.e. 9.456g/100ml while at 8.0×10–5M and onwards concentrations of 7-hydroxy-coumarin-3-carboxylic acid inhibits the fermentative production of lactic acid to a great extent in comparison to control.
